About Us

West Hucknall Baptist Church is based in Hucknall, Nottingham.

We meet to worship and learn more about God and His purpose for us, encouraging Church members to grow in their faith, becoming strong and effective in their walk with God and actively reaching out to impact the communities we serve.

It’s our belief that Jesus is raising up His Church to be effective and present in our generation; we want to be part of that work.

Who We Are

The Baptist Church on Seymour Road opened in a wooden hut bought at auction as the RAF Camp in the West of Hucknall was closing down in 1959. The work began through the vision of members of Hucknall Baptist Church and became independent in 1985.

In January 2017 we changed our name to 'West Hucknall Baptist Church', which better describes our locality and the area we are called to serve in.

From humble beginnings we now have an excellent suite of premises, testimony to God's blessing on this site and His people at work here on the Ruffs Estate.

We are a mixed age congregation of between 60 and 80 people in our Sunday morning services and delighted that we have people worshipping with us covering every decade of age from noughts to nineties. We meet weekly to worship and learn more about God and His purpose for us. Music and praise play a big part in the Church with Sunday morning services offering a family-orientated and contemporary feel, whilst evening services are of a more reflective nature.

We offer crèche, Junior Church and Youth Church for children aged 0 to 14 on Sunday mornings. They learn about the Christian faith through quizzes, stories, drama, puppets, crafts, music, and individual worksheets related to the theme, so there’s usually something good to take home! Our aim is to see our young members get to know Jesus in a personal way and experience His love and power in their lives.

We believe it's important to spend time with other Christians and so we offer a broad range of midweek events, which are great opportunities to support, encourage and build up each other, both socially and spiritually.

Our vision is to be as Jesus in our community so that people of every age, background and ability might come to know Him and share in our worship of Him.

We are so excited about where God is taking us as a Church and long to see His will be done in our lives and our town. Amen!

Our prayer is that you would discover Jesus as the greatest gift of love. Click here to learn more about God's gift of salvation.
