Salvation

Our prayer is that you would discover Jesus as the greatest gift of love.

His life and death represent the greatest gift of love the world will ever see ..... a gift for you. All you need to do is accept it. A brand new start to a life lived in relationship with God is as simple as praying a prayer ..... asking Jesus to meet you where you are. If you are not sure that you know God and wonder about your future, then make this your prayer today .....

"Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God. Thank You for coming to this world of ours and then dying on the cross for me because You love me. I know that I've not been perfect and I've ignored you in my life, but now I realize need You and I need Your forgiveness. I accept You as my Saviour. Now I belong to You and I will live my life for You."

What is 'Salvation'?

You hear Christians talk about 'salvation' and being 'born again.' So what is all this stuff about?

The Bible is always a good place to start so if you have one nearby, grab it and we will see what God's own words say about it.

Romans chapter 3 verse 12 says, ‘All have turned away from God; they have all gone wrong; no one does what is right not even one.' Also, Romans 3 v. 23 says, ‘everyone has sinned and is far away from God’s saving presence.' Everyone has messed up and done wrong which is what we call sinning. Let's face it, anyone who says that they don't sin are kidding themselves. The only one to have walked on earth that hasn't sinned is Jesus - God's own Son. God hates sin. If you flip to Romans 6 v. 23 it says, 'For sin pays its wage – death; but God’s free gift is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord.' Before Jesus came and died on the cross for our sins the penalty of sinning was death. Jesus paid this price for sin so that we don’t have to. Why would God choose to let His own Son go through this for a bunch of sinners like us? John 3 v. 16 says, 'For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.' Simple answer then - God loves us all!

So what is eternal life? It's exactly what it says. 'Eternal' is forever. You have a choice though - eternal life with Jesus in heaven, or eternal life without God and His Son, Jesus, in hell. So it's easy - heaven or hell forever. It's your choice and you only get one shot at it here on earth - you can't make up your mind once you are standing at heaven’s gates!

So what do you have to do to get saved or born again? Romans 10 v. 17 says, 'So then, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message comes through preaching Christ. ' You've heard the word by reading this far so what are you going to do about it? Your choice. God's word even tells us how to get His precious gift of salvation. Look at Romans 10 vs. 9-10 which says, 'If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved. For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved.' It sounds too easy, but it really is that simple - a gift well worth taking. However, if you decide to give your life to Jesus don't take it too lightly - pray it and mean it. If you're ready to take God's gift then simply pray something like the prayer at the top of this page - make it personal and yours.

If you are still not sure that God will accept you, don't worry. Romans 10 v. 13 says, ‘Everyone who calls out to the Lord for help will be saved.' If He can pay for our sins in the way that He did, then He can save you too. He's bigger and His love for us is greater than any reason why you may be holding back.

If you prayed the prayer and meant it then praise God for your new life! So what next? First tell someone! Find yourself a good, lively, Spirit filled church. You will know in your spirit if it's the right place for you. Ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit - another one of His amazing gifts!
